My new uniform 12

Kaori




Image of Pink:
This name card is inspired her to create her new uniform. It was made by Meme who put into the impression of Kaori as sweet color, pink. And Kaori got some pink materials used in the name tag to her. First she made this bag to use these materials and next this collar as also used by the pink fabric. The other side is her favorite Japanese hand towel, tenugui. She got many advices from Yukari and Kimiko, so tried to stitch and decorate some beads on this pattern of Japanese paper fan.





Snail on the sleeve:
This buttons was attached on her nightwear which used for long time. She didn't wear it anymore, so took the buttons and changed to snail of mother and child. She is inspired by Kaoru Yokoo who is participated on this exhibition. Kaori is interested in her unique repair work like using some cute material.




Three artists together:
She has incorporated the various elements of some artists into this bottom of her uniform. She made this net of the race that idea comes from the scarf repaired by Kaoru Yokoo. These pictures of fabric were used for the flags by some image of the exhibition, "HIBINO EXPO 2005 -Katsuhiko Hibino's One-man Exposition", was held at ATM in 2005. He is famous for making the work with cardboards. One of his exhibited work at the show, many objects of cardboard attached to the kite string was hung from the gallery ceiling. Kaori thought the work looks like BLESS's work at this exhibition. She is inspired by BLESS, they present the interactive sound curtain in this show. She made her little sound curtain by using her one side earrings, broken necklaces and some beads.




Pink flower:
These flowers made by Tsumami-zaiku (pinching-craft) which is the Japanese traditional craft techniques from the Edo period to create a pattern of flowers and birds by cut into small square of thin silk. That technique is well known that using for hair ornaments "Kanzashi". She is really interested in the way, so tried to make flowers for her new uniform.





"When I heard about this workshop, I thought, "Oh dear, I can't imagine how I make own uniform!". But my feeling has changed to make it with the women who are participated for the workshop. They gave me wonderful idea. I could make this garment by myself. It was amazing."  -Kaori
